How to Spot GTA 6 Scams: Fake Keys, Fake Betas, Fake Everything
Real Rockstar announcements only come from Rockstar Newswire. Here's how to identify and avoid the pre-launch scam wave.
There is no beta. There are no early keys.
Rockstar has never run a public beta for a mainline GTA title. Any site, DM, or influencer offering 'early access,' 'beta keys,' or 'closed test invites' is running a scam.
The only legitimate places to pre-order GTA 6 are the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and major first-party retailers.
Common scam patterns
Discord DMs with 'GTA 6 leaked build' links, malware, always.
TikTok / YouTube ads promising 'free GTA 6 download', credit card phishing.
Crypto pre-sales for 'GTA 6 tokens,' NFTs, or in-game currency, Rockstar has zero crypto tie-ins.
'Insider' Twitter accounts posting release-date shifts without a Rockstar Newswire link.
The one rule
If it doesn't have a rockstargames.com/newswire link, treat it as rumor at best, scam at worst.
We only report on things Rockstar has officially confirmed, and we tag anything else as 'speculated', you should hold every other source to the same standard.
