Scalpers Want $120+ for a $79.99 Digital Game — Do Not Pay It
eBay listings are pushing GTA 6 pre-orders at $120 to $138. Digital copies are unlimited at $79.99. There is no scarcity to arbitrage — this is pure predatory nonsense.
Search "GTA 6 pre-order" on eBay and you will find listings between $120 and $138. Some are dressed up as "guaranteed launch-day delivery." Some are just resold digital codes.
All of them are silly.
GTA 6 digital pre-orders are:
- Unlimited. The PlayStation Store and Xbox Store are not going to sell out of downloads.
- Fixed price. Standard is $79.99. Ultimate is $99.99. The number does not move.
- Instantly available on launch night through the first-party stores.
The only "scarcity" is manufactured. There is no reason to hand a stranger a premium on a product you can buy at MSRP from the platform you play on.
While we are here, the standing anti-scam rules for the pre-launch window:
- There is no beta. Rockstar has never run a public beta for a mainline GTA.
- There are no early keys. "Insider access" links are phishing.
- There is no crypto pre-sale, no NFT drop, no in-game currency IDO. Rockstar has zero crypto tie-ins.
- There are no leaked builds worth downloading. What is out there is either years-old test footage, fakes, or malware.
Buy from the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Store, or a major first-party retailer. That is the entire safe list.
